PLR or Private Label Rights can be very useful to us all using the internet to earn money. Ever heard the saying “content is King?” well if you want to succeed online you need content.
PLR is content that you buy at a lesser rate than a ghostwriter cost, and you have the right to put your name on it, edit it and use it to represent your brand and business online.
Content is the lifeblood of your website, blog, or any other method you use to connect with your potential clients and those already on your list. Whatever stage you are at in your online business content is required.
Besides a lack of time, many of us simply lack the talent to write very well. We want to make money using the Internet, but without mastery of content, we find ourselves unable to compete. Private label rights content helps us stay competitive and provide for the needs of our audience, too.
Before I go any further one very important consideration. Don’t use PLR as it is because you are not the only person buying it. Some PLR sellers will limit their product to say 50 copies which will be reflected in the price you pay. Others will just offer PLR for sale with no restriction on the number of copies available. Often the seller will suggest you change the title and put your name on it and that’s all you need to do.
Experience has taught me that’s not how you use PLR.. You take the content and change the format, illustrations even the font and any colors to make it unique to you. If it’s an ebook, you would differentially change not only the title but the cover too. Also, if it has no pictures or illustrations, you would add some, or if it does, then change them. The idea is to make it unique for you and your customers.
So what is the use of PLR you may be thinking? It’s that you have content that you can use by making changes etc. Have you ever tried to write something staring at a blank scene or piece of paper? Look I’m not a writer (I know you can tell). However, by reading a PLR product I brought I could start writing and even using some of the PLR content in here.
PLR will have a cost often based on the number of copies for sale, but not always. The most important consideration with PLR is that you get it from a reputable seller. Some of the top PLR vendors to consider buying from include Arun Chandran, Tiffany Lambert, Justin Popovic, Charles Harper, Steve Dougherty, Alice Seba, Lynette Chandler, Trish Lindemood, Sharyn Sheldon and Nicole Dean. I have found their content to be first-class.
There are masses online and most are poorly written and often by a person who has English as a second language. Sometimes it is basically copy and paste with nobody checking that it makes sense until you buy it and start reading it. Also, beware of the Google bots who will trawl your content, if you publish it on the web. They are very good at identifying PLR that has not been significantly changed and you will not get ranked high with such content.
Repurpose is often suggested as a good use of PLR. Let’s start with the various uses. You don’t have to use PLR as it was sold (unless the seller has that restriction in place, and why would you buy it?). For example, if they sell an article pack for your blog, you can just as easily use it in your email autoresponders.
Or, you might compile a pack of 10-20 articles up and turn it into an eBook or short report. Likewise, you can break a longer report or eBook up into individual blog posts or emails. If you want to turn the PLR into other formats, you can do that – from text to video, images, and audio, from video to text, images, and audio, from images to text, video, and audio and from audio to text, video, and images.
In conclusion, use PLR as the basis for your content don’t just copy and paste, rewrite make additions if need be and only buy from reputable sellers. Lastly, when you buy PLR be certain that you have an immediate use for it. If you don’t then it will gather virtual dust on your hard drive.
